Silica fume

What is silica fume?

Silica fume, which is also known as microsilica, is a by-product of metallurgy and of the production of silicon. It is used in concrete to improve its properties. These very fine particles insert themselves between aggregates, allowing them to develop a denser structure and to improve mechanical performance.
